A Religious Art Section?

A Religious Art Section?
I was wondering if anyone else would find this interesting? It could be divided into paintings, literature, music, poetry, etc, and people could discuss their likes/dislikes, or maybe even post their own.

I'd love to discuss something like William Blake's work with people, or it could be interesting to draw other forum members' attention to things they are not aware of yet; in my case I'd point people towards Alex Grey's work.

Just a thought...

Then I'll point to your other option William Blake.

Thanks Parousia, but I wasn't after information, I thought we could share opinions and suggestions. If it's not something people want then that's cool, I might just start a thread on individual things and see if people are interested.

I was trying to drum up general interest, not educate you. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in the case of Blake's pictures, there ARE no words! Cool

But then that is true of Blake's words as well.

"Art can never exist without naked beauty displayed."

or

"When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?"

Smile

RE: A Religious Art Section?
Sorry, I read your post wrong as I was half awake. The cups of tea have kicked in now!

To show you guys a couple of Alex Grey's pieces then:

His web site is: http://www.alexgrey.com/ and I would recommend a visit, especially to the Sacred Mirrors section.

Sounds like a good idea. I've added this section. Let me know if you have more suggestions for subcategories.

RE: A Religious Art Section?
Sorry, not been as active on here as I'd hoped. Just been thinking, could we add films in as a sub-category too?

I watched last Temptation of Christ yesterday, and it made me realise I'd missed that as an aspect of religious art in my initial suggestion. Thanks.

Ah, yes. That would be a good one to add. It's there now.
