Britian's plan to implement opt-in internet pornography
http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/story/20...ilter.html

Sexually explicit content is 'corroding childhood,' says PM David Cameron.....
Do you agree?

RE: Britian banning internet pornography
I don't see how this is enforceable, but as long as their is an opt-in option, I don't see a moral problem with it.

RE: Britian banning internet pornography
Grotesquely inaccurate subject name Kay, as ever.

Cameron has outlined a PLAN to make it so that the default setting of all internet accounts has porn off, and each user has to state that they want it available. Even if it does happen, which is being hotly contested right now, it's a far cry from" banning porn".

Seriously, Kay, weve got enough sensationalist shock merchants in the actual media, we don't need you joining them.

and yet, you didn't give an opinion as ever

porn will be blocked (baned) of being available by default

RE: Britian banning internet pornography
I don't have to give an opinion in order to make my post valid, Kay. I'm not trying to discuss it with you, I'm just asking you to report it accurately, which you have still not done. Again:

David Cameron has expressed an intention to set up an opt-in system for porn. I'm not sure what it's like where you live, but over here the PM saying something does not automatically mean that it's going to happen.

Also, what's with the "as ever" rubbish? Are you SERIOUSLY claiming that I never give opinions about threads? Care to check my posting history?

Kay, you represented about my country inaccurately, and I asked you to get it right. Just like you do every time we get something wrong about the middle east or Islam. I really don't see what's so unreasonable about that.

I'm acting like we're in class? Stop acting like a child and perhaps I'll stop treating you like one.

I don't accept your teching because i am not a child, or acting like a child. take your teaching away where they belong. as I said this is not your classroom, and you wont be getting any respect if you acted that way. don't call people things like Rubbish

RE: Britian's plan to implement opt-in internet pornography
Now I've changed the title to accurately reflect the topic. Sorry Kay, you may not care for Pain's approach from time to time but the truth of the matter is that he's rarely wrong. I think it happened once, on a Tuesday. What he had to say in this thread is accurate and he gives his own opinion so much on this entire forum that it could have been renamed the Zag and Pain show once upon a time, guest starring Bioprophet, Abu the Wall, Adam the Fearful, Sinful the Undeserving and Chris of the Technicolour Dream Pebbles. Special guest appearances from Yefet the Wise, Ali the Wonderful..........ok I've hammered that one long enough.

He's been more often calm and fair than most other posters on this forum in my entire history here - only likely posters to maintain his level of patient civility and explanation are shiver and one or two others who are sadly gone. Does he take the piss sometimes? - of course, but it's part of his charm don't you think? No?

Anyway - he really doesn't treat regular posters as though they are children. I'm often amazed at his ability to maintain a civil and intelligent approach by suggesting that perhaps a given poster hasn't thought something through from all angles.
He's also consistently more gracious than I am for example when dealing with stubborn refusal to acknowledge error, from various posters.

I didn't call you rubbish, Kay, I said that your claim that I never give my opinion is rubbish, which I stand by.

My response earlier could have been gentler, but frankly I'm a bit tired of you posting sensationalist and inaccurate accounts of news stories, often selected to further your own agenda, and getting annoyed when people (NOT just me) call you on it. This is not the first time, and I have been much more polite about it before with no results, so I thought I'd try a different approach.
