Can we tell the future?

Can we tell the future?
(origional chapter and full book can be found on my site)

As the title says “can we tell the future?” well, a few years ago I would have said absolutely not because nothing is written in stone, (so-to-speak) we as people are dynamic and make our own decisions (free will), for instance follow these instructions carefully... nod your head up and down slowly once in a yes type motions, now side to side once slowly in a no type motion now stop. Now ask yourself are you doing that because I told you? Was it planned for you to do that (beyond reading this book I mean)? Or was it simply free-will for you to choose whether you did that or not? Has it potentially changed any future event? And so-on. I always would have said it was my choice and that's it – but now I'm not so sure any-more and let me explain why.

Firstly let's talk about a deja vu, from our perspective when it happens it appears to you that this event has already happened and it's so completely accurate; now scientists will often say it's a glitch in the brain of some sort (it's never been proven) and whether they're right or wrong I am not sure, but let me then ask you this, if you dreamed your vision before hand and it was so clear and you remembered it, then a finite amount of time later this exact event actually happened with flawless accuracy on how you knew it would happen, what does this then mean?

Now at first, some of you may be thinking “absolutely impossible, would/could never happen” or something along those lines and some of you may be thinking the opposite or somewhere in-between, either way this has happened to me, I swear it has happened whether you believe me or not and let me tell you something – it was incredibly scary, I was like a lost puppy I did not know what to do. I kind of just stood there and froze and watched the events go by and pre-determined what would happen with precision before they took place. It probably only lasted about five seconds or so but it felt a lot longer.

I first tried to think rationally, like any medication that may cause this (which I was not on, nor did need), lack of sleep etc everything I tried to think of in a logical sense was not coming together, so I figured maybe it was a sign, a significant even, a warning of some sort maybe. I told myself that should this happen again that instead of being scared I will do something about it, what that something was I didn't know; after that I kept hoping for such a dream but it didn't happen, not until a year or so later but like an idiot I managed to convince myself I was wrong and such a thing would never happen and somehow block the past vision out my mind, so when this new one happened I was just as scared as the first time – I think the actual events are quite personal so I won't go into them, but now I am brave enough and have had double confirmation it is actually real I am going do something about it. It was quite recent my last dream/vision were (without going into too much detail) puts my girlfriend at this current time in real danger, and it was after-all just a dream just like the others but it was exactly as realistic as the others, so without sounding like a crazy person I explained the dream and past events to her and told her in perfect detail about this dream so she can maybe recollect me telling her should (God forbid) this event happen and therefore countermeasure it. This event (thankfully) has not happened yet, but the build up to it is scarily accurate so far... I hope this time I am wrong, but at-least I've trusted my instincts and been brave enough to try and do something about it. In conclusion, whether you believe what I have had to say or not it happened and just when I thought I had a lot of things figured it that had to happen, it really got me thinking differently and can we tell the future? Definitively, I don't know, but for very brief short moments in my life so far I have watched a predicted event I dreamed of with flawless accuracy right in-front of my eyes – what this means I'm not sure, but what I will say is this, if anyone of you go through this or a similar experience you should embrace it, don't be scared it's a gift. You've been given this vision for a reason so all I can suggest is you use your best knowledge and judgement to control what you do in this situation, but try to figure it out first.

John Dunne carried out an existence project: For decades he wrote down his dreams. Sure enough, his dreams would predict the future time and time again.
Others have done the same with the same results...

Ooh ooh, now I'm surely convinced. Please, tell me all your thoughts on god. For that matter, what futures did he predict in particular?

Hehe, no sarcasm needed Tongue
William Burroughs did the same thing, and he foresaw storms, deaths and politics.

RE: Can we tell the future?
I have dream journals from the 90's and early 2000's which span about 6 years. No foresawing in those. Besides, I was vaccinated against psychic visions when I was juuuust a little boy, so spare me the SAP!

Namaste

PS
Thanks for commenting on my sarcasm! It's a dying art to some. Peace.

"Oooh, a sarcasm-detector. Well that's really useful".

Well, William Burroughs meant (and I can psychically predict mockery here) that the foreseeing often was abstract, like regular dream interpretation. A storm might predict radical changes in your life, death might mean the end of something, etc, etc. Other times the dream predicts the exact events and are poo-pooed as déjà vu.

RE: Can we tell the future?
No mockery from me. Have you ever read C.G. Jung's book on Synchronicity? You might find it interesting. I can but offer up a caveat that one should be extremely wary about attributing objective validity to "abstract" phenomenon. As far as déjà vu (how do you get the little marks above the e and the a?), it is, neuroscientifically speaking, an anomaly in memory encoding.
