Christians: Do you REALLY read the Bible?
It has come to my attention that many, maybe most, of my fellow Christians do not actually read the Bible. I would like you to submit your answer on the poll to see if this is true. Atheists can answer on their own part, too.

RE: Christians: Do you REALLY read the Bible?
I've read through the entire Bible in multiple English translations and one Spanish translation. More recently I've been able to read the New Testament in its original Greek.

For me, reading different translations helps bring out things that might be skipped over if I were reading the same translation all of the time.

Here are my favorite translations:

1. Revised English Bible
2. New Living Translation
3. English Standard Version
4. New Revised Standard Version
5. Today's English Version
6. Today's New International Version
7. Dios Habla Hoy

Another interesting choice for the Old Testament is the Septuagint (the Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures used by the early church).

If you're into the original languages, there is the Greek New Testament and the Hebrew Old Testament.

Thanks for the links, these are all great, although I already have a Hebrew version of the Old Testament. I usually read a Catholic New American Bible with the Catechism as a supplement. I also have a German Bible and a Polish Bible which was read by my Grandad, but I can't read the Polish one.

I have the New American Bible; it's a good translation, though not one of my favorites. I do like the articles and study notes very much.

The late Raymond E. Brown, a Catholic, is one of my favorite New Testament scholars.

I have read it all the way through and flick through it every now and then.

I voted 'yes' as I've read large amounts of it. I can prove it too as there is a recording of me doing so on the internet!

The reason I asked this is because many people think they know everything there is to know about Bible, yet they rarely open the thing.
