May I ask what you base that on?

RE: God is cruel
God (of the bible) is a very cruel being.

Quote:Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18

No one deserves to be held against their will and raped. God has no issues with that.

That passage is talking about the aftermath of war. Did you read the passage yourself? The original plan was to take captive the Midianites that were left after battle - women and children and bring them to Moses, Eleazar the priest and to the congregation of the Children of Israel to the camp in the plains of Moab. Moses was angry that the women had been kept alive because they were the cause of all the problems and there was a plague. They were told to kill all the little boys and all the women who had known a man intimately. But everyone else was to be kept alive. Nothing is said about any raping taking place.

As has been stated in that passage, the people were Supposed to be put in a camp in the plains of Moab. Moses disobeyed God's orders. God Does have 'issues' with our disobedience.

RE: God is cruel
So basically God's command was to kill all the men, boys, and women but to keep the female virgins for themselves.

What, do you suppose, was to be the fate of all these virgin girls? I'm pretty sure ice cream and pony rides were not being offered.

When someone asks "What would Jesus do?" remind them that flipping tables and chasing people with a whip is entirely possible.

Ice cream and pony rides were only offered afterwards...

Don't cling to a mistake just because you spent a lot of time making it
