How do I thank god more?
Hello,

God has helped me with alcohol a lot.
How can I pray to thank him?.

I pray by counting seconds to a given time.

Is there any way to thank god more? .
What should I do to be a more faithful person?

RE: How do I thank god more?
God hasn't been helping me much with alcohol. I like bottled craft beers, which I generally obtain at local supermarkets. Until recently, Asda did four bottles of various craft beers for £5, while Tesco offered four bottles for £6. But now the offers have changed or been withdrawn and some of my fave beers have to be bought individually at greater cost. For instance, to purchase at Tesco's a bottle of Old Crafty Hen, which is a more full bodied, rocket fuel grade relative of Old Speckled Hen, now necessitates the rendering of £2 in coin of the realm, which means four bottles now cost £8 - a whopping great £2 increase on the previous offer price. It's an outrage, and a sure case for a bit of benevolent divine intervention one would think. If this happens in future due to the actions of any deity and the prices again come down, I'll gladly give thanks by raising a glass to him or her, despite my steadfastly atheistic (but not quite teetotal) disposition. I'm sure God would rather you spend your time being a good person rather than praying. A simple, sincere 'thank you' and a continued effort to improve should suffice- in any case, he already knows what's in your heart.

When someone asks "What would Jesus do?" remind them that flipping tables and chasing people with a whip is entirely possible.

When I was in Vegas, I drank $1 bottles of beer. The Royale Casino still offers $1 bottles of Michelob 24/7, which is Heaven on Earth. https://foursquare.com/v/casino-royale--...2026a81fe3

According to extra-biblical scripture, In Heaven there is no beer; that's why we drink it here (right here). and when we're gone from here, our friends will be drinking all our beer! Big Grin

Original Germanic text script:

Im Himmel gibt’s kein Bier,
Drum trinken wir es hier.
Denn sind wir nicht mehr hier,
Dann trinken die andern unser Bier.

Alcohol in moderation is healthy; prayer is unnecessary, because God only expects each person to treat others in the same manner as he would want others to treat him. "Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you..." ( Matthew 7:12, NIV )

“Love comes into being through useful service to others.”

RE: How do I thank god more?
Actually --a bit of wine for the stomachs sake. Proverbs has more to say about alcohol -- ch 23:29 -35 the passage is talking about wine /mixed drinks. "Do not look on the wine when it is read, when it sparkles in the cup ...your eyes will see strange things, and your heart will utter perverse things."

Prayer is a person talking with God -- bring our cares to Him for He cares about you. So, obviously it Is important.

The Golden Rule --Matthew 7:12 does Not Replace prayer. Do unto others as you would have them to unto you. Which is a bit different than what you stated.

Alcohol has a way of bringing out the Worse behavior in a person. It's a source of abusiveness -- ruined marriages. Car wrecks. Etc.

Sacrifice a sheep. .. or a goat.

Leviticus 23:19
'You shall also offer one male goat for a sin offering and two male lambs one year old for a sacrifice of peace offerings.

Just make sure not to sacrifice them by boiling them in their mothers milk.. that'll get you a ticket to hell.

Just do good things to others, that's how you thank God
Don't listen to those who tell you drink that's not a problem, I think they are idiots
