It's been a lot longer than that, and no I haven't given up. There may be someone new looking in on this topic who knows of examples. The new topic that Imprecise Interrupt mentioned would deal with issues that are different from this one.

Point me to the new thread.

Sue D.,
re: "Point me to the new thread."

You'll have to ask Imprecise Interrupt as to when he plans to start one.

re: "What did you have in mind if it was not Matthew 12:40?"

I initially asked this question many years ago. Maybe I was having a senior moment then by thinking that there were some 6th day of the week crucifixion/1st day of the week resurrection believers who tried to explain the missing night time of Matthew 12:40 by saying that the Messiah was employing common Jewish colloquial language with regard to the counting of daytimes/night times. At any rate, I may have been perpetuating the question based on a false premise.

I have my own opinion on the third day / three days matter and how it came but it is well beyond what the OP wants this thread to be about. Maybe a new thread...

That would be interesting -- when / where? Smile

It appears he may have changed his mind.

No, I have been having intermittent conversations with Sue and also doing some additional research. The result is turning out to be an essay of considerable size and I need to re-organize and edit it down.

In addition it is summertime! Smile

And here I sit so patiently waiting to find out what price

It is confusing - there's now 2 threads about the wonderful world of 3 days/3 nights discussions!

Don't cling to a mistake just because you spent a lot of time making it
