Morality
This thread is for people who, for recreational purposes only, want to define a consistent, cross-cultural morality. In this tread, you can't say things like it has to be there because it's in the Bible or the Quran. Think of this as the mathematics of morality with axioms and theorems. All are welcome. Please remember that our main purpose is to have fun exercising our minds in an intellectual debate.
As a starting point, here's a rough definition:

Morality deals with right and wrong. It defines how people ought to behave.

An axiom is precise some such statement as "The ten commandments should be foundational in modern society." You are not going to get people to agree about things like that by debating them in the abstract. Something seminal would have to happen to give people the sense not only that things can't continue as they are, but also a sense of where they need to go in the future. Then you would get agreement, but unfortunately I do not think a consensus is going to emerge any other way.

RE: Morality
Anything that helps another without harming another is good.
Anything that contributes to the suffering of oneself or another is evil.

It could obviously get a little difficult determining which is which.

If it takes intelligence to figure out those last two sentences, then I would have to say your sin of pride had you write them.
