Suggestion for a New Religion

Rolleyes Suggestion for a New Religion
1. Be healthy (eat right, exercise)
2. Do whatever you can to make others around you feel good
3. Have respect for the environment around you (living and things)
All other stuff will come naturally, I guess :-)

If you believe in God/s, that's fine too. Logically God will respect you if you follow the rules.

Now, God will send you to Hell if you are:
1. Fat/lazy. (If you can't take good care of yourself, how can you take good care of something/someone else?)
2. not taking good care of something/someone else
3. don't fix those issues asap

How's that? Angel

Ummm...I think you'll find Hinduism & Bhuddism more or less say the same thing. Excepting only that God for them is apersonal (Without personality) so God doesn't do respect or love.

Yeah, getting an ebook reader and reading all I can on religious texts is something on my list to do Wink

So here you have a choice: if you feel that God (or something like that) exists, and you follow the rules, God will be happy, and wonders awaits in the next level/life or whatever... If you don't believe in god, something good will come from it all, anyway.

Ummmm...according to Hindus yes because you'll just get dumped in hell for awhile to help purify you for your recycling although good & evil don't actually exist in real intrinsic terms. They're illusions. According to Jewdaism, Islam and Christianity.....no.

What are you going to call your new religion? Platitude-ism?

To found a religion which isn't either a con trick or a collection of meaningless platituides, takes a religious genius. They come along maybe once or twice per millenium.

this sounds a lot like unitarian universalists, their really into the hippy religion belief stuff.

It also sounds a little like greek philosophy. It is certanly possible to spin off particular clean and healthy living practices from a religion, but it tends to be then a personal discipline, like a weight loss programme rather than an set of beliefs that inspires.
