Well that's where you and I differ. I believe that the prophets mentioned in the Bible & Qur'an are not fictitious

I know. It's fascinating though - how people can say: "those parts of scripture are true, even though I know others aren't"...

Yes, you are. Smile Is it possible for something to exist and yet there to be no evidence? The answer is clearly yes.

This does not change the probability because the number of such things is a finite quantity whereas the number of un-evidenced things is not. However we do discover new things every day.

Most scholars accept the historicity of all but a few of these prophets. Not that we know much about their lives, nor that writings attributed to them came off their pens, but schools of religious thought usually have founder figures, and the writings likely stand consistent with the views these founders held.
