The Perfect Thread
In several conversation, the same thing has come up several times. That God is perfect, and that his creation is perfect. At the same time, we all admit, believer or not, that we are not perfect. So how does a Perfect Creator, who created a perfect creation, lead to an imperfect us? I find it must be impossible for something perfect to create something perfect to end up with something not perfect. Basically if humans are not perfect, then we could not have been created perfect. If we were created perfect with first man and first woman, then the fall of man is not possible, because it would mean there was a flaw, and since perfect mean flawless, then we were not perfect. So how or why would a perfect creator, create something, that is not perfect?

If everyone was thinking the same thing, then no one would be thinking at all.

He created us and He perfects us....

Deuteronomy 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

To be perfect is to be whole, sound, innocent, having integrity, in accord with truth and fact.

RE: The Perfect Thread
That is what I thought.

If everyone was thinking the same thing, then no one would be thinking at all.

We perfectly live up to God's expectations of us. To be imperfect, to cause suffering, to endure suffering, to forgive, to repent. This amuses God to no end.

RE: The Perfect Thread
There simply is no such thing as "perfection". Nothing has been found to be perfect in this universe because as I have stated in another thread "to exist is to have limitations, and limitations imply imperfection".

To be perfect is to not exist. Therefore, God is perfect.

I love this statement! What do you define "God" as?

Why is it up to an atheist to define God?

It is just bad policy to use words that you can not define. What's crawled into your cocoa? MerryAtheist is a good guy. You need not speak for him, he's got depth. He'll answer the question just fine.
