Exactly .. evolutionary principles are "by design", so are not accidental .. any more than gravity is accidental Smile

so than why single out evolution? shouldn't you be harassing the theory of gravity as well?

Celtic polytheist reconstructionism.

Ah right. Where does this come from, what is 'Celtic' (and what does the 'reconstrcutionism' part mean?)

Celtic: Of or referring to the Celtic lands, especially those of pre-Christian Europe, including: Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Gaul, and England.

Reconstructionism: A religion which seeks to reconstruct in a historically accurate way, a religion which has partially or entirely been lost.

Why do people need to turn to a supernatural motivation for life in the absence of a proven theory. Is uncertainty that unbearable, is life really meaningless without having an answer even if it is made up?

I am only able to post from my phone for the next couple of days as I am away from home for work. So I'll respond then.

Unfortunately the evolution theory does not explain first cause, and as design can be relegated to improbable by some in the scientific community, but not impossible, it will ultimately come down to what makes the most logical sense for each person. That life got here by chance and the process of evolution, or that it was indeed created by an intelligent creator for a purpose.... or some will be happy to sit on the fence and not really commit to either theory.

Each can make their own decision based on what evidence they choose to look at, and how they choose to understand it.

God Kaleb, do you ever stop banging that particular drum? He KNOWS evolutionary theory doesn't explain the first cause of life. He not only admits that in the first line of the post you've quoted, he makes it part of his argument.

Hang on Pain, I am not only addressing my remarks to this particular post, but also based on other discussions I have had with flip.
I believe I have found the answer to first cause, and therefore for me, makes the intelligent design more plausible than evolution.

For the record, I believe that one can not harmonize any process of evolution with creation, as it would contradict everything God has stated in his inspired word the bible. The bible simply does NOT teach that God used evolution as part of the creative process, but rather as it says in Revelation 4:11 "You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created."

It is imo Jehovah who deserves the credit for designing and making all living things, not evolution...
