Which Koran to buy?
Hi all. I am thinking of reading an English translation of the Koran. Which would be a good starting point. Thanks, Dirk.

RE: Which Koran to buy?
It is believed by many Muslims that a Qur'an translated by a non-Muslim is not as accurate as they do not believe what they write, so I would probably suggest buying one translated by an actual Muslim scholar. Maybe then for interest get one by a non-Muslim.

My copy is: The Qur'an: An English Version: Modern English Version by Majid Fakhry, but there may be better out there. It is, however, easy to read and follow the text.

Moslemman, do you mean the one you posted the link to, at:

http://d1.islamhouse.com/data/en/ih_book..._Quran.pdf

If you do mean that one, I had seen your post, and have just had a quick look. That could indeed do Dirk as an introduction.

Thanks.

No one but all of them. I am not trying to be smart here, but if you want to read a translation of the meanings of Quran, you should read more than one translation.
Some mebers already suggested some translationSmile
