That only occurs in interpretations of the Holy Scriptures. It has no Scriptural foundation.

Does that mean that Jesus wasn't crucified?

The reply is self-explanatory.

If it was, I would not have asked for an explanation, perhaps the explanation is contained in the original manuscripts that nobody has.
Really get over yourself, you do nothing to enhance the reputation of your beliefs, you merely make a mockery of them for others to laugh at.

Give it up kevlar, LOL! dustandashes will quote scripture endlessly, taunt you with platitudes and vapid responses, but will, in the end, fail to engage you in any meaningful way.

Oh I know digi.........I just like to ask interesting questions.
Questions which should ring a bell in an intelligent person. Even some ideologues are intelligent. LOL Smile
Not you digi........others..........although you are more than welcome to partake.

Put yourself in God's position: You apparently feel offended and transgressed against by the human creatures you have created, but at the same time you love them and want them to regain your not inconsiderable graces.
The way you decide to do this, is to make your son (also you) human and have the humans you want to redeem themselves, redeem themselves by killing your son (you).
Now remember you are God, does any of this make sense to you.................GOD?

No kevlar, I didn't think you meant me. Angelic

However, I do see myself at times as an idealist. I always want to think the best of people, at least at first. My wife accuses me of this a lot, and says it allows people to take advantage of me.

Back to your question - this is one of the conundrums of Christianity, isn't it. And it's all tied in with why God would create beings that are imperfect, and then punish them for being so. Then, as your question goes, he tries to make it right by torturing and killing his own son (himself, if the Holy Trinity theology is believed). Which by the way, wouldn't this be suicide by proxy?

I realize my last comment is taking this answer to a logical absurdity, but still!
