Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

God Rocks, we all know you do an amazing amount here despite having to work a more than full time job to pay the bills. But if you ever get some spare time, could you possibly put some mechanism in that will warn the user if some text has been entered but not yet posted and the users tries to go to another page on this site?

I have done that more times than I care to admit, erroneously thinking that the Preview was the Post and losing it all. Sad

Excellent idea. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a modification which will do this. Sad

I know this isn't really a fix but a good way to prevent this when you are typing a long post is to type it in Word or Notepad and then copy and paste it. That way if it is accidentally lost you'll still have it.

Good advice and I usually do it. But sometimes I get carried away by the spirit of the moment and just start typing. Other times I build it in Word first, then do all the cosmetic corrections after Preview. Either way, I get mad at myself for being dumb. Sad

I'm afraid I have never heard of or seen such a modification myself. Perhaps if it is wanted enough it might be worth suggesting on the official MyBB Requests forum, or on mybbcentral Suggestions/Requests forum (though I'm not too happy with the latter site's lack of response to my last email question, fee, and account deletion policies). If you find one, please let me know as well as I'd like it on my own sites.
